After a fragile two-month ceasefire, Israel has resumed intense airstrikes on Gaza, resulting in an initial death toll of 326, according to the enclave’s Health Ministry, which declared a state of emergency on Tuesday. The renewed violence has drawn urgent responses from the international community, with calls for an immediate end to the aggression.

China Urges Measures to Prevent Humanitarian Crisis
China has expressed deep concern over the escalating violence and called for measures to prevent a “humanitarian disaster” in Gaza. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized the need to “avoid any escalation” and prevent a larger humanitarian crisis. “China is highly concerned about the current situation between Israel and Palestine,” Mao stated, urging all parties to exercise restraint.

Russia Voices Concern Over Civilian Casualties
Russia has also expressed alarm over the escalation in Gaza, particularly in light of reports of mass civilian casualties. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated on Tuesday, “Of course, an escalation, another escalation of the situation, an exit into a spiral again, into a spiral of escalating tensions. This is what causes our concern, especially, of course, the incoming information about large casualties among the civilian population.” Moscow is closely monitoring the situation and hopes for a return to peace, Peskov added.

Iran Condemns Israeli Attacks, Blames U.S. Backing
Iran strongly condemned the latest wave of Israeli airstrikes, describing them as part of an ongoing campaign of “genocidal actions and ethnic cleansing” in Palestinian territories. In a statement on Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei condemned the attacks, which have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Palestinian civilians, including women and children. Baghaei accused the United States of backing the assaults and the blockade preventing food and medicine from reaching Gaza. He called on the international community and the United Nations to take responsibility for halting the violence, warning that inaction would undermine global peace and security. Baghaei also urged the Islamic world to take decisive action, including prosecuting Israeli leaders at international courts and cutting off arms and financial support to Israel.

France Demands End to Hostilities
France condemned Israel’s renewed strikes on Gaza, calling for an “immediate” end to the violence. The French Foreign Ministry stated, “France condemns the Israeli strikes carried out since yesterday on the Gaza Strip, which have caused numerous civilian casualties.” The ministry emphasized that the hostilities endanger efforts to release Israeli captives and threaten the lives of Palestinian civilians.

Ireland Calls for Ceasefire and Return to Talks
Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin also condemned the Israeli aggression, urging all parties to respect the ceasefire and return to negotiations. “I call on all parties to respect the ceasefire and hostage release deal, and to return to talks aimed at implementing the second phase of the deal,” Martin said. He stressed the urgent need to end hostilities for the sake of Gaza’s civilians, who have already endured immense suffering.

The international community continues to call for an immediate cessation of violence, emphasizing the need to protect civilian lives and prevent further humanitarian devastation in Gaza.

China, Russia and Iran issued a joint statement on Friday, reaffirming that political and diplomatic engagement and dialogue remains the only viable and practical option for the Iranian nuclear issue after deputy foreign ministers of the three nations held a meeting in Beijing on Friday.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, met with the heads of delegations to the meeting and put forward China’s five-point proposal on the Iranian nuclear issue, including staying committed to peaceful settlement of disputes through political and diplomatic means, and opposing the use of force and illegal sanctions.

Ma Zhaoxu, Chinese Vice Foreign Minister, told reporters after the meeting that the three sides emphasized the necessity of terminating all illegal unilateral sanctions. Relevant parties should work to eliminate the root causes of the current situation and abandon sanctions, pressure, and threats of the use of force.

We stress the importance of UN Security Council Resolution 2231 and its timeline, urging all relevant parties to refrain from actions that could escalate tensions and to jointly create a favorable atmosphere and conditions for diplomatic efforts, Ma said.

The trilateral meeting was held against the backdrop of the US withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018 and the continued maximum pressure on Iran by the Trump administration.

Amid the US’ unilateral actions and extreme pressure, the original framework under the UN reached between Iran and other permanent members of the UN Security Council (UNSC) plus Germany has been unable to function effectively. Therefore, China, Russia, and Iran are exploring new mechanisms to prevent further deterioration of the Iranian nuclear issue and to seek a diplomatic resolution, according to experts.

China’s efforts

Among the five-point proposal on the Iranian nuclear issue, China stays committed to balancing rights and responsibilities, and takes a holistic approach to the goals of nuclear non-proliferation and peaceful uses of nuclear energy, said Wang.

China stays committed to the framework of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as the basis for new consensus. China hopes that all parties will work toward the same direction and resume dialogue and negotiation as early as possible. The US should demonstrate political sincerity and return to talks at an early date, Wang said.

Wang noted that China stays committed to a step-by-step and reciprocal approach, and seeks consensus through consultation. History has proven that acting from a position of strength would not lead to the key to resolving difficult issues.

Upholding the principle of mutual respect is the only viable path to finding the greatest common ground that accommodates the legitimate concerns of all parties and reaching a solution that meets the expectation of the international community, Wang said.

The trilateral meeting came days after Tehran spurned US “orders” to resume dialogue over the nuclear program, Reuters reported on Friday.

Last week, US President Donald Trump said he had sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei proposing nuclear talks, adding that “there are two ways Iran can be handled: militarily, or you make a deal,” according to Reuters.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian responded that he would not negotiate with the US while being “threatened”, and Iran would not bow to US “orders” to talk, the media report said.

The Trump administration also downplayed the China-Russia-Iran meeting, Fox News said on Thursday while Trump suggested “perhaps Beijing, Moscow and Tehran will be having their own discussions on de-escalation.”

The Trump administration imposed a “maximum pressure” policy on Iran in February that includes efforts to drive its oil exports to zero in order to stop Tehran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and funding militant groups, Reuters said.

Liu Zhongmin, a professor from the Middle East Studies Institute of Shanghai International Studies University, told the Global Times on Friday that the latest China-Russia-Iran dialogue is currently just the beginning, noting that the meeting could be seen as part of damage-control measures, aimed at preventing the Iranian nuclear issue from escalating further.

The Iran nuclear deal was signed ten years ago, and the issue has once again reached a critical crossroads. There are essentially two approaches to resolving it, Sun Degang, director of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Fudan University, told the Global Times on Friday.

One approach is the US strategy, which relies on extreme pressure, as seen during the Trump administration following the US withdrawal from the agreement. This led Iran to accelerate its uranium enrichment process, increasing the risk of nuclear proliferation, Sun noted.

“However, another approach is the multilateral diplomatic resolution, which proved effective in the original Iran nuclear agreement a decade ago,” Sun said, noting that China played a key role in that process, where all parties engaged in dialogue, sought common ground while setting aside differences, and ultimately reached a consensus on the nuclear deal.

In response to a question on the impact of the meeting on the resumption of dialogue and negotiation and the prospect of a political and diplomatic resolution to the Iranian nuclear issue, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Friday that the Iranian nuclear issue is facing a serious situation and once again at a crossroads. The Beijing meeting is a useful effort by China, Russia and Iran in seeking to advance the settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue.

Role of multilateral platforms

In the joint statement issued after the China-Russia-Iran meeting on Friday, the three countries agreed to continue their close consultation and cooperation in the future.

The three countries also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest, and agreed to maintain and strengthen their coordination in international organizations and multilateral arrangements such as BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

On the Iranian nuclear issue, China stays committed to promoting cooperation through dialogue, and opposes pressing for intervention by the UNSC, said Chinese Foreign Minister Wang.

Under the current situation, hasty intervention by the UNSC will not help build confidence or bridge differences among the relevant parties. Initiating the snapback mechanism would undo years of diplomatic efforts, and must be handled with caution, Wang said.

Iran’s foreign ministry on Thursday summoned the envoys of Britain, France and Germany over what it called a “misuse of the UNSC to hold a closed-door meeting,” Reuters reported citing Iranian state media.

The UNSC met behind closed doors on Wednesday over Tehran’s nuclear program. The meeting called by six of the council’s 15 members – the US, France, Greece, Panama, South Korea and Britain, came at Washington’s request, according to the report.

China’s envoy to the UN Fu Cong was quoted as saying ahead of the UNSC meeting in the media report that China still hopes that “we can seize the limited time we have before the termination date in October this year, in order to have a deal, a new deal so that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, known as the Iran nuclear deal, can be maintained.

“Putting maximum pressure on a certain country is not going to achieve the goal,” Fu said, according to Reuters.

The US has made some very unrealistic demands, completely driven by its own interests, regarding global hotspot issues including the Iranian nuclear issue, which has led to the destruction of the original consensus, foundation, and mechanisms surrounding these already complex international hotspot issues, Liu noted.

“In this context, the international community faces the challenge of seeking new solutions and approaches, and must not allow the US’ unilateral actions to undermine all the consensus and mechanisms regarding international hotspot issues,” Liu said.

If the other parties, aside from the US, can maintain consensus, this will, in turn, exert some pressure on the US, Liu added.

On 15th, US President Donald Trump authorized extensive military strikes against Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi group in response to their attacks on Red Sea shipping. The operation, which killed at least 50 people and injured 101, marks the beginning of a campaign expected to last for weeks. This is the largest US military action in the Middle East since Trump took office in January.

Trump issued a stern warning to Iran, the Houthis’ primary supporter, demanding an immediate end to its backing of the group. “If Iran threatens the US, America will hold you fully accountable, and we won’t be nice about it!” he declared in a post on his Truth Social platform.

Houthis Strike Back
In response, on 16th the Houthis claimed that they had targeted the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman and its accompanying warships in the northern Red Sea. The attack involved 18 ballistic and cruise missiles, along with drones.

Iran Responds with Defiance
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Commander, Hossein Salami, dismissed Trump’s threats, asserting that the Houthis act independently and make their own strategic decisions. He warned that Iran would respond decisively and destructively if the US acted on its threats. “We warn our enemies that Iran will not hesitate to retaliate if provoked,” Salami stated in an interview with state media.

The Houthi-run health ministry reported that the US strikes resulted in significant civilian casualties, with most of the dead and injured being women and children. The Houthis’ political bureau condemned the attacks as a “war crime” and vowed to retaliate. “Our armed forces are fully prepared to respond to escalation with escalation,” the group said in a statement.

Strikes Target Key Houthi Strongholds
Residents in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, described the strikes as devastating, with explosions shaking entire neighborhoods. “The blasts were so violent, they felt like an earthquake. Our women and children were terrified,” said Abdullah Yahia, a local resident. Strikes also hit military sites in Taiz and a power station in Dahyan, the hometown of Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi, causing widespread power outages.

The Houthis, who control much of Yemen, have intensified attacks on commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea since November 2023, disrupting global trade and prompting the US to launch a costly campaign to intercept missiles and drones. According to the Pentagon, the Houthis have attacked US warships 174 times and commercial vessels 145 times since 2023. The group claims its actions are in solidarity with Palestinians amid Israel’s conflict with Hamas in Gaza.

US Adopts More Aggressive Approach
The Trump administration has taken a more aggressive stance compared to its predecessor. While former President Joe Biden sought to limit US involvement, Trump has authorized broader military action. US officials, speaking anonymously, confirmed that the strikes are part of a larger operation aimed at degrading the Houthis’ capabilities.

The US military’s Central Command described the strikes as the start of a sustained campaign across Yemen. Fighter jets from the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, stationed in the Red Sea, played a key role in the operation. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth emphasized that attacks on US assets “will not be tolerated,” adding that Iran, as the Houthis’ benefactor, is “on notice.”

International Reactions
Iran’s foreign ministry condemned the strikes as a “gross violation of international law and the UN Charter.” Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi accused the US of meddling in Iranian affairs and called for an end to support for Israel’s actions in Gaza. “Stop the killing of Yemeni people,” he urged in a social media post.

The strikes come amid heightened tensions in the region. Earlier in the week, the Houthis announced they would resume attacks on Israeli ships in the Red Sea and surrounding waterways, ending a period of relative calm that began with the Gaza ceasefire in January. The US also recently sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, seeking talks over Iran’s nuclear program. However, Khamenei rejected the offer, stating that negotiations with the US are off the table.

Broader Implications
The conflict underscores the complex dynamics in the Middle East, with Iran’s influence extending across Yemen, Syria, and beyond. Tehran faces growing domestic challenges, including public discontent over economic hardships, which could escalate into mass protests. Meanwhile, Iran’s nuclear program remains a contentious issue. The UN nuclear watchdog has warned that Iran is rapidly enriching uranium to 60% purity, nearing weapons-grade levels, though Iran denies seeking to develop nuclear weapons.

In a sign of shifting diplomatic efforts, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reportedly informed Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about the strikes in Yemen. Russia, which relies on Iranian weaponry in its war in Ukraine, has yet to issue a formal response.

As the US intensifies its military campaign in Yemen, the region braces for further escalation, with the potential for broader conflict involving Iran and its allies. The coming weeks will test the resolve of all parties involved, with significant implications for global security and stability.

China could be sitting on top of enough thorium to power its energy needs almost forever, a national survey has revealed.

This one radioactive metal alone could revolutionise global energy production, ending the worldwide dependence on fossil fuels, an expert has said.

According to a declassified report detailing the survey, which ended in 2020, China’s thorium reserves, already known as the world’s largest, may actually exceed previous estimates by orders of magnitude.

Just five years of mining waste from a single iron ore site in Inner Mongolia contains enough thorium to meet US household energy demands for more than 1,000 years, according to the report published in Chinese journal Geological Review in January.
Fully exploited, the Bayan Obo mining complex could yield 1 million tonnes of thorium – enough to fuel China for 60,000 years, according to some scientists’ estimates.

“For over a century, nations have been engaging in wars over fossil fuels. It turns out the endless energy source lies right under our feet,” said a Beijing-based geologist who requested not to be named because discussion about mineral deposits requires authorisation.
“Every nation has thorium. Imagine cargo ships powered by container-sized reactors crossing oceans for years without refuelling.”

Thorium, a silver-coloured metal named after the Norse god of thunder, generates 200 times more energy than uranium. And unlike uranium reactors, thorium molten-salt reactors (TMSRs) are small, cannot melt down, require no water cooling and produce minimal long-lived radioactive waste.

Last year China approved the construction of the world’s first TMSR power plant in the Gobi Desert – a pilot project that will generate 10 megawatts of electricity when it is up and running by 2029.

The survey, led by senior engineer Fan Honghai with the National Key Laboratory of Uranium Resource Exploration-Mining and Nuclear Remote Sensing in Beijing, identified 233 thorium-rich zones across China, clustered in five key belts from the inland Xinjiang to coastal Guangdong.

The findings show magmatic and hydrothermal deposits dominate, often intertwined with rare earth elements.
In Fujian and Hainan, coastal placer sands hold easily extractable thorium-bearing monazite.

The Bayan Obo mega-deposit – already the world’s largest rare earth mine – contains a huge amount of thorium in tailings alone, long ignored during iron extraction, according to Fan and his colleagues.

“These thorium resources in tailings remain totally untouched,” they wrote in the report.

Despite the optimism, hurdles remain. Isolating thorium from rare earth ores demands vast amounts of acid and energy – roughly hundreds of tonnes of waste water per gram of purified thorium, according to some industrial estimates based on existing technology.
There are also some fears that thorium could be used to produce weaponised uranium, though some experts argue such by-products are unfit for bombs.

China’s thorium push coincides with the release of KUN-24AP – world’s first thorium-powered nuclear container ship design – and plans for lunar thorium reactors to sustain future moon bases, according to Fan’s team.
“The demand for thorium in nuclear power and nuclear propulsion sectors have brought significant opportunities and challenges to the exploration and exploitation of thorium resources in China,” they wrote.
The precise estimate on China’s thorium reserve potential remains classified due to national security regulations.

Israeli officials reportedly rejected efforts to prioritize negotiations based on the US citizenship of certain captives, citing social and political sensitivities that could provoke outrage among other families. As a result, Washington opted for a direct, urgent, and secretive approach to negotiations with Hamas.

According to The New York Times, “Israel” was not directly informed about the negotiations by the US government but rather discovered them through “other channels.”

Yedioth Ahronoth stated that these tensions and leaks could deepen divisions between the US administration and the Israeli occupation’s government if an agreement is reached in Qatar.

An Israeli source cited in the report expressed concerns over the potential implications of such a deal. “The US is negotiating with Hamas for the release of captives, yet Israel will ultimately bear at least part of the cost. It is unclear whether Netanyahu’s government would agree to free Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences as part of a secret deal prioritizing American passport holders over others,” the source said.

Additionally, the report suggested that the US may seek to leverage this direct negotiation track to push for a broader agreement—one that “Israel” opposes and has been deliberately kept in the dark about.

US, Hamas officials held talks in Qatar multiple times: Israeli media

Yesterday, Israeli media outlet i24NEWS reported, citing informed sources, that the US administration engaged in discussions with Hamas in Qatar, with Donald Trump’s key message being his expectation of concrete steps before advancing to the next phase of talks.

A source familiar with the meetings stated, “Israel was informed of the discussions but not provided with all the details.” According to the report, Washington has pushed for the release of Israeli-American soldier Aidan Alexander, along with other captives.

However, US Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, cancelled his planned visit to Qatar due to a lack of progress in negotiations. Meanwhile, US Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs, Adam Boehler, confirmed to i24NEWS on Wednesday that the administration had held direct talks with Hamas, aiming to secure the release of American captives and others.

The report noted that Boehler had met senior Hamas officials in Qatar multiple times, with discussions focused on a potential prisoner exchange. “The message to Hamas was clear: show goodwill so we can move forward,” the source stated.

In a recent press conference held in Jerusalem on February 16, 2025, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu underscored their unified stance against Iran’s nuclear ambitions and regional influence. Netanyahu emphasized the strong cooperation between Israel and the United States, stating, “We agreed that the ayatollahs must not have nuclear weapons, and we also agreed that Iran’s aggression in the region has to be rolled back.”

Secretary Rubio echoed these sentiments, identifying Iran as the “single greatest source of instability” in the Middle East. He asserted, “Behind every terrorist group, behind every act of violence, behind every destabilizing activity… is Iran.”

The press conference also addressed the situation in Gaza, with both leaders expressing support for President Donald Trump’s controversial plan to redevelop the region. This plan involves U.S. ownership of Gaza, the relocation of over two million Palestinians, and transforming the area into a resort destination—a proposal that has faced widespread international criticism.

Additionally, Netanyahu issued a stern warning to Hamas regarding the release of Israeli hostages, stating that “the gates of hell will be opened” if all captives are not freed.

This joint appearance highlights the deepening U.S.-Israel alliance and their shared commitment to countering perceived threats from Iran and addressing the complex dynamics in Gaza.

The South Korean government said Monday it has temporarily suspended the local service of Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) app DeepSeek over concerns about its data collection practices.

The Personal Information Protection Commission said the service was suspended at 6 p.m. Saturday and will be resumed after “improvements and remedies” are made in line with South Korea’s personal information protection laws.

The measures comes after multiple government ministries and agencies blocked internal access to the AI service amid concerns about the startup’s data management practices.

The commission sent a formal inquiry to DeepSeek last month to clarify the service’s data collection and management methods.

DeepSeek has since assigned a representative in South Korea and acknowledged shortcomings in considering local protection laws while also expressing its will to cooperate with the commission actively.

A US aircraft carrying a third batch of Indian nationals deported from the US landed in Amritsar, Punjab in northern India on Sunday. It comes days after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi travelled to Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump, who has promised millions of deportations in his second term.

The flight had approximately 112 individuals on board, according to local media reports, with the majority hailing from the northern state of Haryana. While 44 of the deportees were from Haryana, 33 were from Gujarat (Modi’s home state), and 31 were from Punjab. The remainder were from other states.

The deportees will be allowed to return to their homes after completing all necessary procedures, including immigration processing, verification, and background checks, sources told NDTV.

The first US military C-17 transport aircraft carrying 104 Indians landed in Amritsar on February 5. A second plane landed on Saturday.

A video released by the US authorities after the first plane left showed people being held in handcuffs and leg restraints, sparking widespread outrage in India. In response, the Indian government stated that it was engaging with Washington to ensure that the deportees were not subjected to any mistreatment.

Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar stated in the Indian parliament that the deportations have been an ongoing process for several years, emphasizing that the latest round followed the same procedures as in the past, with no deviations from established protocols.  The US embassy has commented that it is “the policy of the United States to faithfully execute the immigration laws against all inadmissible and removable aliens.”

The issue of illegal migration from India to the US was raised by Trump in his telephone conversation with Modi in January, and reportedly figured in last week’s talks. A joint statement said the leaders agreed to address concerns related to illegal immigration and human trafficking “through co-operative efforts.”

Modi told the White House press that India is willing to take back its nationals if they are illegally in the US and mentioned a need to halt the “ecosystem” of human trafficking.

The relations between India and Canada were experiencing strains, and there were several key issues contributing but the latest and the threatening one is the murder of a Khalistani sikh leader, termed by India as a terrorist in the month of June and the latest allegation made at the Canadian parliament by Prime Minister Justine Trudeau that Indian agents involved in the separatists killing in Canadian soil and India’s denial on the issue and followed by diplomatic war includes the expulsion of each other’s diplomats from their consulates and travel advisory etc.

The latest allegation and strain of the relationship are not new and it’s been happening for the past few years. One significant factor was Canada’s comments and expressions of concern about human rights issues in India, particularly related to the farmers’ protests that had gained international attention. These comments drew criticism from the Indian government, which viewed them as unwarranted interference in its domestic affairs.

Another contentious matter was the treatment of the Sikh diaspora and allegations of support for Khalistani separatist movements in Canada. India has expressed concerns about radical elements within the Sikh community in Canada and has called on the Canadian government to take action against them.

Trade disputes also played a role in the strained relationship. Trade tensions had been escalating, with both countries imposing tariffs and trade restrictions on each other’s products, including agricultural goods and pulses.

Additionally, the suspension of direct flights between India and Canada due to COVID-19 added to the challenges in people-to-people and economic ties.

It’s important to note that diplomatic relations can change over time, and the situation between India and Canada may have evolved since my last update in September 2021. For the most current information and a comprehensive understanding of their bilateral relationship, it’s recommended to consult recent news sources and official statements from both countries.

The dynamic between Turkey and the European Union (EU) reflects a nuanced blend of cooperation and contention. As a candidate for EU membership since 1987, Turkey has engaged in a protracted accession process, formally commencing negotiations in 2005. However, progress has been sluggish, with only a few chapters of EU legislation successfully concluded as of my last knowledge update in September 2021. Political complexities have been at the forefront of these challenges, as concerns persist regarding the erosion of democratic institutions, human rights abuses, and the rule of law in Turkey, periodically leading to the suspension of specific accession negotiations.

The longstanding Cyprus issue, characterized by Turkey’s non-recognition of the Republic of Cyprus and the unresolved conflict in Northern Cyprus, further complicates the path to EU membership. Nevertheless, economic ties remain robust, with Turkey relying heavily on the EU as its foremost trading partner. Moreover, in response to the 2015-2016 refugee crisis, the EU and Turkey have engaged in cooperative efforts to manage migratory flows, notably through the EU-Turkey Migration Deal. The future of this relationship hinges on the resolution of political disputes, the upholding of democratic principles, and finding common ground on various regional and international challenges, underscoring its significance for both parties in the ever-evolving landscape of European politics.

It’s important to note that the dynamics of international relations can change over time, and political situations can evolve. As of the last update, Turkey had not officially abandoned its EU aspirations, but the challenges were substantial. The future of Turkey’s relationship with the EU depends on various factors, including political developments in Turkey, the stance of EU member states, and progress on issues such as democracy, human rights, and the Cyprus dispute. For the most up-to-date information on this matter, it’s advisable to consult recent news sources and official statements from Turkey and the EU.
